Paying tribute to the love of your life. Using Acrylics we will explore through various painting techniques how to portray your pet without fussing over detail. Each animal/pet has a uniqueness all of it’s own, whether through it’s personality or distinctive markings. This workshop will help you express the character of your pet and show you how to portray it’s individuality on canvas in a more contemporary style.

Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea

About the Artist

descent

At university, her love of animals and nature led Marie into Scientific Illustration. On graduating she became a self employed artist, teaching art privately as well working in adult education. Other projects include delivering art related activities at corporate and community events.

When not teaching, time is spent in the studio painting, where she continues to explore the theme of nature, in a more expressive style; as apposed to the tight representational ideas that were promoted at University. Marie’s paintings are an impressionistic interpretation, conveying traditional subjects in a more contemporary style. Expressive brushstrokes and bold colour give a slightly abstract feel to the work.

Marie is represented by several galleries and has won many awards for her work. In 2013 she was Best British Bird category winner for ‘Pigeon Frenzy’ in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition.
