Join Trevor and learn essential skills for producing successful likenesses whilst exploring the qualities unique to pastels.
Working from photographic reference, guidance will be given on drawing a portrait including: basic ratios of the face, the effect of the angle of the face and light on the face. Trevor will also show you how the face changes with age and gender. Discover how the qualities of pastel work well with portraits and the range of finishes that can be achieved. Trevor will provide short demos, but most of the day will be spent painting a portrait in pastel, exploring character and expressing it in the subtlety of the medium. There will be plenty of individual help from Trevor throughout the day.
