On this full day workshop you will look at the different types of soluble films available, how they work and understand their uses. Inspiration will be taken from British coastal flora; seaweed has a lot to offer when it comes to design and texture. You will learn about what you need to do to stitch on soluble films and fleeces, find out about useful machine embroidery techniques to make lovely textural backgrounds and putting it all together to make a seashore inspired embroidery.

About the Tutor
Angie is a textile artist and tutor, who lives and works in Ledbury, Herefordshire. While a student she won the prestigious Charles Henry Foyle Trust Award for Stitched Textiles with her piece ‘Unfolding Word’ and had ‘Shroud’ accepted for Art of the Stitch.
Her artwork is inspired by many themes but particularly poetry or text and the natural world, particularly plant forms.
She teaches to Guilds and groups all over the country, and has been teaching in Australia and New Zealand. Her latest book called ‘Stitch Cloth Paper and Paint’ is a current best seller for Search Press. Her work has also featured in many other publications including Embroidery, Stitch magazine, Cloth Paper Scissors, Quilting Arts, Hot Textiles by Kim Thitichai and The Encyclopedia of Embroidery by Val Holmes and many more
