Hello everyone and a warm welcome to all of you that recently signed up to receive our Newsletter. This one will be short but sweet, with news of a great offer and the winner of our recent prize draw.
What a busy time we’ve been having here at the Bank. It seems ages ago now, but the Harwich Festival of the Arts 2015 was a great success – hats off to the team that put on such an exciting visual arts exhibition right here in our studio.
In the Vault our showcase of Old Bank Studios activities also generated a lot of interest (there are so many people in this part of the world with an interest in exploring their own creativity). This continued with the more than 450 people who paid us a visit during the ‘Harwich Secret Gardens’ weekend.As a result of all this interest, a great many of you will be reading one of our newsletters for the first time. So what better way to welcome the newcomers and to reward existing customers for their support than a great SUMMER OFFER.
If you like the idea of a whole weekend in the company of two very accomplished artists, working in two different paint mediums and two very different styles, then this might appeal to you.

Ken Kempley’s Atmospheric Acrylics

This workshop is for painters of all abilities. The emphasis on painting rather than drawing will provide you with many useful hints and tips and will give you the opportunity to learn simple techniques such as: the use of gesso, brush control, colour mixing, tonal values, composition and limited pallet control, all at your own pace.

An Introduction to Oil Painting
with Clive Riggs
Learn about the properties of Oil Paint and techniques for using it.
Experienced tutor Clive will take you through the process of painting a simple still life, at a pace that will ensure everyone completes a piece of work. The group will be small, so there will be plenty of opportunities for one to one tuition.
