Cyanotype is a fun and interesting method of printing, another way to describe it, is “sun printing” as it needs UV Light to cure the chemistry and make a print.
Angenita will begin the day with a brief history and description of this fascinating technique.
The aim of this workshop is to print a selection of samples on cotton using the blue print method. Angenita is an expert in the process and will explain the different stages, how to sensitise the fabric, print, cure in a dark place and rinse. You have the choice to bring in objects to print and found objects from the beach in Harwich, there will also be some negatives to print.
You will have enough printed fabric to make a bag or cushion.
Angenita will supply an information sheet so you can continue the process at home on different fabric and paper.
Includes homemade lunch and refreshments
