Two Day Course
Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd April
This course is limited to 10 people
Create your own panel using ceramic and glass tesserae along with a variety of recycled materials. Learn all the techniques needed to complete your own project under the guidance of renowned Mosaic Artist Anne Schwegmann-Fielding.
ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED
Mosaic is a wonderfully versatile medium. Using a range of colours and materials, you can transform simple designs into beautiful mosaics which will last forever!
The workshop enables you to explore techniques and materials whilst making an individual piece of work. We will be working mainly with the direct method, which is sticking tiles directly to the surface. The materials available are glass and ceramic tesserae, bathroom tiles, old china, buttons, mirror and other recycled materials, all in a range of colours from subtle to vibrant.
The day will provide all the basic techniques needed to complete further and more ambitious projects at home! There will be plenty of books to hand for design ideas, should you need them.
Personalise your work with any old bits of broken crockery or jewellery from home which you can’t bear to throw away – embed them into the mosaic and keep them forever.
Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea both days
What you will need to bring
Crockery, jewellery, buttons or beads that you want to incorporate
Imagination – and/or picture reference or sketches
Everything else from panels, to tiles, adhesive, grout, and cutters are provided
