This is a new and exciting day, based on a range of poopy studies I did last year for our exhibition.
We will start the day with advice on drawing: shapes, negative spaces and lines in relation to each other and looking at the overall composition.
The painting; we will discuss using resist and what colours to use, as well as: initial washes, brush strokes, wet on wet (saturation) and adding detail We will explore how to represent transparency, shadows and light.
We will produce one 1/4 sheet painting with a few samples and exercises, all paper and paints will be provided with explanations of what to use to continue your water colour journey.

About your tutor
Bev Caleno is a successful watercolour painter who sells her work locally and further afield. She is a member of Colchester Art Society and has previously had paintings pre-selected for The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour. Bev continues to hone her skills; painting with many of the talented artists that visit the studios.
What you will need to bring
All artist quality materials are provided but you might like to bring your own brushes. (large and small rounds) if you have them.
