Ideal for Beginners and Improvers

Well known TV artist and leading demonstrator for Windsor and Newton, Charles Evans is joining us for a weekend of watercolour and acrylic painting. Each day will be a mixture of Charles’ informative demonstrations and step by step tuition. There will be an opportunity to complete one painting on each day, as well as simple exercises.

This watercolour day will begin with a simple landscape in the morning, followed by a more detailed subject in the afternoon. Charles will share with you how he paints landscape and sky, using tone and colour to create depth, as well as a host of other techniques for putting detail into the work. There will also be useful tips on composition and adding people to a scene.

The day will also include a short demonstration of acrylic paint used in a traditional watercolour style.

Includes home made lunch, refreshments and cream tea

About the Artist

Born and bred in Yorkshire, Charles spent his childhood playing in the fields, woods and rivers around the farm where he lived, fuelling an inbred appreciation of the countryside; something that informs his work to this day.

After studying at Lincoln College of Art, Charles developed his career as a watercolour artist. Now he is equally well regarded for his work in acrylic. As one of the country’s best known painting tutors he imparts his knowledge with warmth and humour.
