Chris Forsey – Landscape, Drama and Light (2 day course)***Only 2 Places Remaining***

Date: 27th April 2019 - 28th April 2019
Time: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Spaces: 0

2 days Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April

This workshop is designed to inspire and encourage you to go your own way and to take risks. The teaching will not be prescriptive or step by step, rather, you will be shown ways to use colour and design compositions and introduced to different techniques for mark making. The rest is up to you!

Each day will start with Chris giving a short demonstration of his approach to acrylic painting , including an explanation of how he uses mixed media in his work. This will be followed by informal individual advice and help as you embark on your own paintings.

Reference material will be supplied by Chris, but you are encouraged to use your own sketches and photos. The workshop session will finish with a short, helpful appraisal of the weekend’s paintings.

Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea.

About the Artist

After studying art and graphics in Bristol, Chris began a career in illustration. Constantly trying to extend and add to his skills, he became a self taught watercolour painter, before moving on to other water-based media. He has exhibited on numerous occasions with the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.

More recently Chris has developed a mixed-media approach to his work, combining watercolour, acrylic, pastel and gouache. He says “I am exhilarated by colour and surface and enjoy creating textured layers of dry-brushed colour that allow hints of complementary hue to glow through, thus creating an exciting surface of scattered, broken colour”.
