In this one day workshop you will learn about the ancient art of Enamelling.  Enamelling is the fusion of glass (in powder form) to a metal, in this case copper at extremely high temperatures (750oC and higher). Our experienced tutor, Toni Peers (Guild of Essex Craftsmen) will take you though several techniques such as wet packing, sifting and applying media. By the end of the day you will have made up to 3 enamelled pieces (e.g. cufflinks, pendants) to your own design, guided by Toni’s help.  We also offer Enamelling on Silver Clay as a course, please let us know if you would be interested in this 2 skills in 1 day course.

More about the tutor:

Toni has over 10 years experience teaching  a variety of crafts and before that I.T.  She has a City and Guilds qualification in teaching adults and has been accepted into the Guild of Essex Craftsmen for her skills in Enamelling and Encaustic Art. Toni has taught a variety of colleges and venues around the country but mainly works in and around the Essex area. Toni thoroughly enjoys teaching and watching students achieving their creative potential, most especially when they say they aren’t artistic!

All materials, refreshments and a deli lunch, included.
