If you have never tried oil painting before or feel you need a bit of expert tuition to move forward with your work, then come along and have a go. There will be lots of quick and easy lessons to help you learn how to handle the paints, mix the colours you want and build confidence using the brushes. There are no “silly questions”, Melanie’s own enthusiasm is infectious, helping you to progress to painting simple scenes by the end of the day.

Melanie Cambridge has her own range of oil paints, which are included in this workshop, so no upfront expenses, just bring your enthusiasm to give it a try.

Includes home made lunch, refreshments and afternoon tea.

About the Artist

Melanie Cambridge is a Surrey-based full-time professional artist, working mainly in oils. LargelyMel Cambridge self-taught, her own works are full of light and colour, often painted in part on location. Melanie has exhibited in various locations around the South East, including the Mall Galleries and the Soan Gallery in London. Currently most of her work is either for private commissions or for The Wey Gallery in Godalming where she has been a gallery artist for several years.

Melanie works each summer as a tutor at Marlborough College Summer School as well as at various other venues in the South East. She is a regular visitor to art groups, offering demonstrations and workshops full of encouragement and friendly advice. Melanie has written four art instruction books for Collins. Over the past two years, she has developed her own range of artist oil colours in conjunction with a major UK manufacturer.

What you will need to bring

Any oil Painting kit that you have, however all equipment and materials are included.
