Whether you book one day or both, these workshops will open your eyes to painting with Acrylics and colour mixing in a much more liberated and expressive way. Working from scenes with strong light and shade we will explore ways of conveying these contrasts using rich hues rather then tonal variations. Each workshop will cover a different subject with the play of light as the main focus. We will explore colour as a way of evoking atmosphere and generating a greater emotional response. You will be guided every step of the way with short demonstrations, with plenty of one to ones and the session will conclude with a critique on the day’s painting.
Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea
About the Artist
Working as an illustrator for over 15 years, Hashim gained valuable experience in developing a backbone of drawing, conceptual ideas and painting techniques. His client list varies from The Times, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Time magazine, an ad campaign for Smirnoff and a stamp for The Royal Mail. Throughout his career Hashim has won many awards; most recently the 2009 SAA (Society of All Artists) Artist of the Year, his first book ‘Vibrant Acrylics’ was released in 2012 with a new book on ‘Cityscapes’ due out in 2016. Over the last few years Hashim has been keen to explore his own ideas and create paintings with a greater sense of energy and immediacy. Using contrasting flecks of colour, heavy textural paint and expressive brush strokes combine to bring greater depth and m
ood to each of his paintings.
