Painting doesn’t necessarily require drawing skills. Instead, if you can recognise shape, match colour and combine these in the right place, then the drawing will take care of itself.

This workshop will be an introduction to fundamental painting skills and these skills will be transferable to any genre of painting.

The aims of the day are to:
Introduce the rules which relate to the sequence of applying colour,
Recognise shapes and how they relate to objects,
Recognise and mix colours to imitate the actual appearance of objects,
Show the importance of adopting a broad approach to painting in the early stages.

Experienced tutor Clive will take you through the process of painting a simple still life at a pace that will ensure everyone completes a piece of work. The group will be small, so there will be plenty of opportunities for one to one tuition.

Includes homemade lunch, all refreshments and afternoon tea
