About the Artist

I am a full time artist and a professional associate of the SAA, which is an organisation for all artists from beginners to professionals.

Since a child, I have loved art; I was encouraged to do pencil drawing and paint by my family, particularly my paternal grandfather, who taught me various drawing techniques.

Over the years I have attended various art courses and workshops to improve my painting.  I took early retirement from the NHS during 2013 to pursue my art interests; I have steadily increased my teaching commitments and exhibition work.  I run classes and workshops; also, demonstrations for art clubs.

COVID 19

Since restarting our events in summer 2020, we have introduced changes to the way we operate; including reduced class sizes. The studio has been re organised to enable everyone to remain socially distant whilst at their workstation and hand sanitiser is provided. A large video screen has been mounted on the wall to enable everyone to view demonstrations from where they are working, eliminating the need to gather around the tutor. Lunch is now in the form of a packup to be eaten at your workstation; it may be served hot or cold. Drinks are available all day on a self serve basis.

Please try to arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the event begins to allow plenty of time to get settled in. The wearing of face masks is not required whilst at your workstation, but we would ask you to use one when moving about the studio.
