About the Artist
Born in Scotland, John Glover studied at the Glasgow School of Art, completing a BA Arts Degree with the Open University.
He has worked as a freelance book illustrator in London for such publishers as Evans Brothers, Hamlyns, Oxford University Press and Macmillans. However, since the 1980’s he has concentrated on his own art career.
John is an estimable landscape painter and has exhibited widely. “I love working out of doors and battling with the elements. My paintings capture windswept Scottish beaches, vast East Anglian skies, the glowing colours of France and the magic of Venice”.
As a highly accomplished and experienced portrait painter John has had many commissions ranging from grand official portraits to more intimate family groups or individual studies. He works in all mediums from pencil to watercolour, pastel to oils.
