Two Day Course

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September

Saturday Make a small landscape inspired by beechwoods and bluebells.

We will collage together a fabric background, add tree trunks, then use a confetti technique, cutting tiny pieces with rotary cutters, and sprinkling these onto “mistyfuse” before ironing and stitching.
The composition can then be finished with hand or machine sewing as preferred. We will make a design approximately 45cm long by 30cm high max.

Sunday  Make a small fabric picture in a day using hare templates provided.

We will consider design, composition and colour. Using bondaweb, we will be cutting fabric shapes and ironing them down as raw edge appliqué. The composition can then be finished with hand or machine sewing as preferred. Hare templates will be provided. Ideas for settings will be given, including simple landscapes. We will make a design approximately 40cm square

Reference pictures will be provided, but feel welcome to bring your own

Includes homemade lunch and refreshments both days

COVID 19

Since restarting our events in summer 2020, we have introduced changes to the way we operate; including reduced class sizes. The studio has been re organised to enable everyone to remain socially distant whilst at their workstation and hand sanitiser is provided. A large video screen has been mounted on the wall to enable everyone to view demonstrations from where they are working, eliminating the need to gather around the tutor. Lunch is now in the form of a packup to be eaten at your workstation; it may be served hot or cold. Drinks are available all day on a self serve basis.

Please try to arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the event begins to allow plenty of time to get settled in. The wearing of face masks is not required whilst at your workstation, but we would ask you to use one when moving about the studio.
