Natasha Day – Abstracted Landscapes Mixed Media (Art for Wellbeing)

Date: 21st October 2017
Time: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Spaces: 6

All Materials Included

The act of painting and the creative process can be at once a relaxing and revitalising experience for both mind and body. Whether you consider yourself a painter or not, a day spent in the company of Natasha Day will give a huge boost to your general wellbeing.
This workshop celebrates experimentation and loosening up in order to create more freely.
Using techniques such as blending and mark making contrasted with line and acrylic paint to convey mood and feeling, you will be encouraged to explore the potential of the accidental and the intentional. During the workshop you will be encouraged to do several large works and not to be precious about or restricted by your materials.
Natasha will demonstrate throughout the day and guide you both individually and in a group through this fun and relaxing day.
It is suitable for beginners, as well as the more experienced looking for new ways to work.
Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea

About the Artist

natasha-dayNatasha says: It has taken me years to evolve into the artist that I am today. From beginning my working life in Mental Health and Counselling as a nurse and using art with patients, through attendance on many courses, using new styles, approaches and experimenting with different media for my own art practice, I decided after years in the NHS to make the leap towards being a practising artist and tutor

I will keep on learning and changing as I paint and teach, which is one of creativity’s great joys; you never stop evolving if you are alive and kicking.

The most inspirational times for me have been living in Australia with its vast landscapes and vivid colours.  That is where I became more confident in moving from representational towards experimental paintings that were more expressive or abstracted.
