This time there is a winter theme to this ever popular full day workshop. You will begin with the simple shapes used to create penguins and puffins, or indeed snowmen and progress on to a more complicated form such as a polar bear, which is made around a frame. So whether you have never felted before or are already a practitioner in need of some new ideas, you can join in this very social day. What you make is entirely up to you and there will be plenty of guidance from your tutor Rosie.
We will be using the needle felting technique which involves working with roving, or strands of wool fleece. Using special barbed felting needles, the wool is pierced, along with manual compression, to create the interlocking or matting together of the wool fibres. In this fashion the wool can be sculpted into any form and different textures can be achieved.

Materials are included, but you may wish to bring pictures to use as reference and wool in your choice of colours if you have a specific subject in mind.
