All Materials Included
If you are just starting out painting in oils or are absolutely new to the medium, this workshop aims to give you an insight into how Nigel paints as well as lots of other helpful information. Working from a choice of reference photos, by the end of the day you will have completed a small landscape painting.
There will be a step by step demonstration throughout the day, however Nigel will be equally happy for you to work at your own pace and, if you like, from your own reference. There will be guidance on colour use and mixing, composition and the importance of tone. Nigel will offer a lot of one to one guidance as the workshop progresses.
As a plein air painter Nigel will also be able to give advise on the practicalities and challenges of working outside, should you wish to venture out with your easel in the future.
Includes homemade lunch and refreshments
About the tutor
Nigel studied art at two local art colleges in the 1980’s in range of disciplines. Travel, a career and raising a family over the next thirty something years got in the way of pursuing artistic endeavours in a meaningful way until, along with wife Bev, starting Old Bank Studios. Since becoming fully involved in the business he has started to draw and paint again, with a strong leaning towards working in oils and painting en plein air. Nigel now sells his work and to date has had two very successful joint Summer Exhibitions with Bev at the Old Bank.
