Following an introduction from Sally Anne about her art and career, she will begin the day with the first part of her demonstration. You will then prepare your canvas for painting and sketch out your design. After a second brief demo you will begin painting using colour, tone and balance to firm up your composition. The afternoon will begin with some instruction on the use of collage which you will add to your piece and you will complete your work using some finishing techniques. The day will end with a critique.

Through out the day there will be lots of one to one time with Sally Anne and you will be encouraged to add your own personality into your work.

Includes homemade lunch, refreshments and cream tea

About the Artist

Sally Anne is a painter, with a background in Textile Design and Ceramics
She has a 1st Class BA Hons from Bristol Art School.
She also ran a Textile Design Studio ‘Digby Morton Designs’ in London selling her designs to Liberty’s, Monsoon, Laura Ashley, Calvin Klein and Cerrutti amongst others.
Working from her North Norfolk home /Studio, she paints mainly flowers and still lives.
Her past as a textile designer is evident in her use of pattern and colour. Her joyful ,exuberant paintings inspire a feeling of happiness in the viewer.
Often elements of collage, gold leaf are used, and a technique of layering and scraping of paint to create texture that results in paintings that are vibrant, luminous and full of interest.

Sally Anne exhibits throughout the country and  is currently exhibiting at the Affordable Art Fair Battersea London.

What you will need to bring

1 inch thick budget/decorators paintbrush

Acrylic Paints – as many colours as you have

20 -24 in square Deep edge canvas

Budget kitchen or craft knife (not scalpels)

any other mixed media or watersoluble budget pens /crayons – optional

Any hand made / interesting paper / collage materials – optional

Tear Off Palettes/old plate

Kitchen Roll

Old clothes or an apron
