ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED
Spend a relaxing, stress free day making a cosy Christmas picture from recycled fabrics with textile artist, Sharon Blackman.
Following a demonstration of a few simple embroidery stitches and sewing techniques you will be provided with lots of ideas and suggestions for your design. You will then be shown, step by step, how to make a background as the basis for your picture. These steps will be accompanied by written instructions and ideas sheets. Books, images and cards will be on hand to give you ideas and inspiration and you will then be given the opportunity to make your design into your own unique Christmas cards.
This is a really enjoyable and fun activity and it will hopefully inspire you to continue to make unique textile pictures for friends and family.
This workshop is for all levels of experience, beginners very welcome.
Includes homemade lunch and refreshments
About the artist
I am a textile artist based in Chelmsford. I have been making textile pictures for about 25 years and I absolutely love everything about it. I use almost entirely recycled fabrics as I prefer the soft, muted colours of worn and slightly faded textiles. I have exhibited and led workshops all over London and East Anglia and beyond. I have sold my work in exhibitions, galleries and shops and now have my own successful Etsy shop where I sell original artworks, prints and cards all over the world. My favourite themes are – the seaside, gardens and the home , and I love to celebrate the simple pleasures in life.
