Wendy Dolan - Architecture in Stitch

Two Day Course Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May

We are very lucky to have booked Wendy Dolan, author of Layer, Paint and Stitch, who rarely comes to our region to teach.

Architecture is the inspiration for this workshop – doors, windows, arches, etc. Natural fabrics will be pieced, layered and stitched to create a textured background. This textured surface will then be painted and worked into with freehand machine stitching.

Suitable for all levels of ability

Includes homemade lunch and refreshments both days

Inspiration
Living close to the South Downs, the landscape provides a constant source of inspiration for her stitched textile designs. Wendy’s current theme, ‘A Sense of Place’ records memorable journeys and locations, using fabric, stitch and texture. Architectural structures, textures, and patterns also provide her with a wealth of ideas to enjoy exploring.
