Two Day Course Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July
We are very lucky to have booked Wendy Dolan, author of Layer, Paint and Stitch, who rarely comes to our region to teach.
Inspired by the meadow flowers project in my book ‘Layer, Paint and Stitch’, you will create your own stitched ‘Summer Meadow’. A variety of natural fabrics, broderie anglais and flower trims will be pieced and layered, creating a textured background. This will be coloured with fabric paints and then worked into with freehand machine embroidery creating your own unique design. You will learn how to stitch grasses, seed heads and flowers.
Suitable for all levels of ability
Includes homemade lunch and refreshments both days

Inspiration
Living close to the South Downs, the landscape provides a constant source of inspiration for her stitched textile designs. Wendy’s current theme, ‘A Sense of Place’ records memorable journeys and locations, using fabric, stitch and texture. Architectural structures, textures, and patterns also provide her with a wealth of ideas to enjoy exploring.
