Plenty of Spring Colour at ‘The Bank’ this May

025Following on from a very successful workshop with the wonderful and highly talented Haidee-Jo Summers, our next full day workshop is on Saturday 10th May with wildlife artist Brinpaint-17 Edwards. Working in Acrylics, Brin will demonstrate how he captures the movement, colour and light of birds in their natural setting. With his expert guidance you will create your own stunning work. Minimal drawing skill is needed, making this a great workshop for beginners or the more accomplished looking to try something a bit different.

May is also a very busy month in the soft furnishing and textile studio. Our regulars have enrolled for another term on one of the three, weekly sessions; continuing a wide variety of exciting projects and the monthly patchwork course is shaping up nicely. Something new is the six week “Dressmaking for Beginners” course, which began on Tuesday 29th April, there’s still one place remaining, so it’s not too late!

pebbleAlso new and starting this month is the first of a series of four full day workshops with the fantastically talented Alex Waylett. Each workshop will introduce students to different aspects of machine embroidery; using exciting fabrics, colours and textures, with the opportunity to design and make a beautiful clasp bag. The series gets underway on Tuesday 13th May and continues through the summer. All the workshops are complimentary, so you can choose the one for you or fully immerse yourself in all four.

Plans for The Harwich Festival of the Arts 2014 are well underway, with artworks now selected for the Visual Arts Exhibition, to be hosted at Old bank Studios. www.harwichfestival.co.uk
