Textile and Craft Programme 2018

Better late than never, the Textile and Craft Programme 2018 is finally ready. There are printed copies available and within the next day or two you will be able to download a copy by visiting the homepage of our website.You will find many exciting new workshops and some very talented and inspiring tutors, new to The Old Bank.
Most of my own events are different and I have repeated my monthly course Textile Art and Machine Embroidery #1 due to popularity and extended it.The idea of these sessions is to experience as many different materials and techniques with machine embroidery as possible without massive outlay. The work produced on the first course was truly impressive. I only have two places remaining on Textile Art and Machine Embroidery #2 (5 sessions). You could do this one before #1 as they don’t run in order of difficulty.

I was busy making a new Tuffett over the holidays – in silk this time – and was really pleased with the result. If you think you might enjoy making one of these lovely little footstools, I still have a couple of spaces available on the next 2 day course:

A completely new workshop

is this amazing cord bag designed by Amanda Walker. Learn how to coil and stich cord into different shapes and sizes. Start small with a bowl and then make a very usable bag with webbing handles.

Watercolours

We’re really looking forward to Susan Boddy’s two Beginners Watercolours dates in March. I have had some private tuition with Susan and was very impressed with her style of teaching and her talent. These events will be excellent for anyone wanting to start on their watercolour journey. Incidentally I’ll be taking my new paints and brushes away with me on our upcoming trip and hoping to improve my technique and find some watery inspiration.

We will be away in January, but keeping an eye on things from afar, our son will be holding the fort and house sitting.
